Verloren Bekisting was asked again to build a stage for Broei’s Yart in the garden of the Duivelsteen castle for Gentse Feesten 2024. The castle is going under renovation works soon so we could borrow the scaffolding from the contractor. Two scaffoldings with two levels meeting each other at a 60 degree angle. To make the scaffolding accessible at its two levels railings had to be provided until a height that the scaffolding system itself could not. All the planks of the red wooden roof structure from last year were re-used to make railings to the demanded height. Only a bit of white paint added. The wooden stairs that used to be in the garden of the Duivelsteen had been demolished this year. So the two stairs of the scaffolding bring the visitor from the level of the street to the garden and from the level of the garden to its first and second level. The wooden beams of last year’s roof structure were also re-used and implemented as a separate structure for the roof of the stage. Topped up with the white tarp from last year. Two big triangles are introduced as backdrop for the two scaffoldings. One triangle facing down is the exact cutout of the other triangle facing up. The direction of the diagonals in the scaffolds confirm this direction.
Two borrowed scaffoldings filled in with all last year’s material.
