Verloren Bekisting was asked to do the scenography for Broei Yart at Gentse Feesten. Together with Dirk Hoogeveen we decided to fully reuse last years wooden structure made by Constructlab who then did the scenography. Through the act of cutting we dissected the original structure from Constructlab. Lifting the now disconnected roof and leaving the benches on the ground. We painted the entire original structure of Constructlab in red to visually show how the benches and roof used to be one before the cutting. All the cut marks have been left unpainted. By cutting the roof it became unstable. By adding new wood the roof became stable again, ready to be lifted on the scaffold structure. Finishing it off with a white PE tarp that only partly covers the roof. Two roofs to dance under and lots of sitting together.
