Verloren Bekisting was asked to build a scenography for Gentse Feesten 2023 in the garden of Duivelsteen. The existing wooden construction of the previous Gentse Feesten (2022) made by Constructlab were completely reused. By making two simple cuts in the wooden structures, a roof shape was separated from a series of benches. The wooden structure was then painted completely red to visually demonstrate how the benches and roof were one structure before sawing. All saw cuts are left unpainted. New, untreated wood was only added where necessary, so that the structure could function as a roof. By lifting the roofs onto a scaffold, two pavilions were created. Finally, the roofs were finished with a white PE tarp that provides partial shelter from rain and sun.
