Verloren Bekisting was asked by Maurits Verstraete to contribute to the ‘Vlaggenhouder’ project for Sorry not Sorry where artists were invited to make an object for a flagpole holder to be placed on a corner house in the Arsenaalstraat, Gent. For our object, Black Flag, a found construction fence was manipulated by cutting it in half and placing both ends in a double flagpole holder. The two vertical tubes of the fences were painted white to give the impression of a vertical flagpole, topping it off with two solar lamp bulbs. The flags consist of two triangular white tarps, which were leftover from our Duivelsteen stage from last summer, and black duct tape was added to create a stripped pattern.
