Verloren Bekisting was asked to make a scenography for the Congress of Broei. There had always been an interest in the seemingly useless yellow steel structures bolted into the walls and hanging between the concrete columns in the big hall of Nieuwland 69. For the scenography of the Congress these yellow steel structures became functional again. All steel structures were removed from the wall by cutting and also the two long steel bars clamped in-between two columns were removed. All this steel was restored in their original traffic yellow color and put into a concrete terrace foot, turning them into flag-like objects where the exhibition material from architecture students of Ugent, KU Leuven, KASK, RWTH and EPFL could be hung into. The two long steel bars were also reconfigured differently to provide for exhibition material. The original clamps the steel bars had (to be hung between two circular sectioned columns) were now flipped to also make them connect to a square sectioned column.
6 steel flags, 2 steel bars, 1 exhibition.
